It's a part of the human makeup. We all do it whether we realize it or not. It's something we can fall back on to help us through difficult and uncomfortable situations. There are different names for it, but we just call it acting. Acting is defined as a person who portrays a character, either on stage, or screen. The character is usually fictional, but can also be someone who is alive or once lived. The profession of acting has been around a long time. Even the ancient Greeks had shows in their theatres.
There are professional acting schools like Kids Act LA Acting Classes and lessons and training. Acting can be a very well paid job, depending on where you are and who you are. The acting of the past probably carried more prestige than today, but the money wasn't nearly as good. Acting use to be a craft, while today it's more of a show. Many of today's acting stars are not even considered great or good actors and it doesn't matter. If the person on stage or screen has something that keeps the audience paying; then that's really all that matters.
You don't even need to attend schools or classes to be an actor in today's world. Look at reality TV, or what I call un-reality TV. There are so many people on these shows and they have no training in the field of acting, yet they are actors. They hope that these shows will somehow make them a star, at least for a little while. These shows have probably lowered the status of acting. Television is to blame. Apparently television is going through a uncreative stage. The writers for television seem to be having a hard time developing shows that would require trained professionals; so instead, they bring together a bunch of non-actors, stick a camera in their face and call it a TV show.
If you crave to see some very good acting, then you need to watch soap operas. Soap operas have always been down the food chain when it comes to status, but the soaps have been around for along time and many big screen stars got their start doing soap operas. Another interesting thing about soaps is that they're a daily event. From Monday through Friday these characters become a part of your everyday life. Maybe that's why soap fans identify with the characters. Soap actors are some of the most recognized and beloved actors on the planet.
Acting is still a very popular profession, though it probably doesn't require the skill it once took in the past. Television, through need or laziness has decided to put their fate in the hands of unskilled actors, so far it's working, because a lot of people watch those un-reality shows. Sure, there are still a few great character actors, but you just don't see them too often. Because of all the short-cuts that exist, that allow people to get their faces on camera, you have to wonder why anyone would go through the training and classes and all that is required to be a good actor, if they could find an easier way.

Have you always longed for an open, honest relationship with your child? Have you wanted to be the kind of parent that your child feels comfortable sharing things with? Have you found discipline a challenging thing for you to enforce? If your answer to any of the above questions were yes, the parenting tips below by our experts at Kids Act LA School are for you!
Children are born with a natural curiosity and a desire to learn. As parents, it is very important that we do not extinguish this curiosity and instead nurture it. Great ways to do this include having frequent Q&A sessions with your child. One thing to keep in mind however is instead of making jokes or making up answers to the questions that you do not know the answers to, teach your child how to find answers to those questions on their own.
Make use of online video conferencing to build your children's relationships with relatives who live far away. By scheduling regular calls with grandparents, aunts, and uncles, your child will become familiar with their relatives and not be timid around them when they come to visit in person. Your child will be able to enjoy the relationships despite the distance.
Consistency is essential when parenting children. Children need to know what is expected of them every time. If you are not consistent with your expectations, it could cause your child to get confused and not know what it expected of them. Keeping expectations constant makes life easier for both the parent and the child.
When your children first start getting homework, help them have a comfortable, well-lit space near enough to ask for help if they need it. Make sure to check in often and see that the work is actually getting done, and offer positive reinforcement for all homework that gets done.
When you're trying to get an older toddler or child excited about their car seat, let them help you choose it. You can let your child pick the color, or the pattern, or sometimes even the style of seat. Doing this will help ensure that they want to sit in their "special seat" and can mean less traveling battles.
When it comes to trying to change kids' bad behavior, parents should try to "walk the walk" by setting a good example. Just as most parents cannot stand the sound of their children whining, nearly all children can hardly bear parental nagging. Instead of constantly harping on your child, make a positive statement encouraging them to follow through with some action and accompanying it with a brief explanation of the consequences of failure to do so.
Allow your toddler to help you around the house as you clean, fold laundry, mix dough, or perform other tasks. Your child loves to mimic your actions and learns while doing so, and you get to spend some quality time together while performing chores that need to be done anyway.
In order to be a good parent, you must not watch every single thing that your child does. This will smother them and only push them further away. If you give them some freedom, they will in turn put more truth into how they are feeling and how they are living their life. This way, the children are less likely to rebel.
An important tip to consider in terms of parenting is to make sure you respect your children and also show respect to everybody when in front of your children. This will teach them to respect other people as well as show respect toward you. You cannot expect them to act a certain way if you are not acting that way yourself.
Get your child into a daily routine and be consistent with it. This can help your child feel stable at home and with every day activities. Keep meal times, bath times and study times consistent. This will also help you stay more organized and helps to keep your day together.
Furthermore, being a parent is an interesting experience as it involves raising children from infancy to adulthood. Though the process is rewarding, it can be hard. Nevertheless, do not worry.

The actor must learn and perfect many skills before they will be successful at their profession. Whether an actor works in television, motion picture productions, or theater, these skills are necessary. They may come naturally to some of the top actors, but most have to work hard through schooling and practice. Very few can say they were born to do this job.
The skills that actors must master include speech rate, oral projection, voice clarity, physical and vocal expression, vocal pitch, physical stance and eye contact. Many performers have worked for years to perfect a technique. Some are good at one and not another.
Others have a natural gift for all. Whether they intend to perform in TV drama, movie or film drama, voice acting, musicals or theater productions, knowledge of each is necessary to meet the requirements of an acting career. These techniques will enable an actor to portray him/herself as being confident and ready to do the job.
Rate of speech is a skill that one can use in acting. A character actor could speak very slowly when portraying the part of someone with physical or mental handicaps. If portraying the part of an excited or agitated character, an actor might speak very fast. This is an effective way of getting the emotions and feelings of a character across to the audience.
However, many inexperienced actors and actresses have no sense of timing and speak either too slowly or too quickly. Vocal projection and clarity are two more skills that can be signs of experience, or lack of, on the part of an actor or actress. Vocal projection and clarity, especially in theater productions are necessary to ensure that the entire audience can both hear and understand what the actor is saying.
The character actor must master the arts of both vocal and physical expression. Body language is a major factor in physical expression as it is used to portray the attitude and emotion of a character at any given time. Vocal expression does the same thing, but in a different way. It uses other things like pitch ranges to show emotions and feelings.
Pitch is the range of an actor's tone of voice. Pitch ranges can be from very high to very low, depending on the emotion being portrayed. Physical stance is important because poor posture and fidgeting indicates nervousness and a lack of confidence. The actor must always be concerned with eye contact as well, not only with the audience but also with the other cast members too.

You've been bitten by the acting bug, and there is apparently no cure. Nothing else seems to matter to you other than seeing your name on the marquee/conquering Broadway/making it onto a TV series.
Okay, since we've established the goal, here are several things we've learned in our years in the business that may help you to avoid the traps many beginning actors fall prey to.
The acting business is notorious for one trap - dependence on the luck of being in the right place at the right time, and serendipity does play a role. But invariably we know that planning and preparation of your individual ingredients or qualities and knowing how you come across as a performer avoids the trap of hoping that providence will take over your fears and doubts and assure your success.
You bring the unique blend of experience and life that is you, and that will be ultimately more real, more affecting and more alive that any impersonal performance.
Get involved as much as you can in live performing to discover how your character ingredients come across to others. From even the smallest performance in class to a paid gig, you'll learn things about your acting that you'll get in no other place. Nothing beats feedback. You'll need to develop a thick skin, and learn whose opinions truly reflect your effectiveness, but once you've identified your reliable advisors, humble yourself and listen, and thus avoid careening down a path to obscurity that you might have otherwise taken.
Once you've found an acting class or teacher who challenges you, stick with them awhile. It takes a little time to bring out the genius lurking inside you. Ask them to help you identify acting problems, and keep you accountable resolving these.
We've seen many hundreds of people much more innately talented than many who succeed, but who lacked the skill to understand who they were, how they affected others and the persistence to get to where they wanted to go.
Acting is taking a risk. Aside from risking in front of casting people, a huge risk is discovering and presenting your unique character ingredients in front of others wanting to hear how you affected them.

There are lots of things that an individual must know as an actor. But here are a few lessons underlined by our experts at Kids Act LA that one should learn early in their career. These are:
* Those who wish to make their career in acting join an acting school or acting course. These schools make you learn how to play a role. You will learn how to challenge, to stretch and to grow. In our real world, we do not act outside our physical abilities. You must have a clear sense that who you are and how it can affect your performance or the role you are going to act. Playing a role involves soul searching, requires hard work and suggestions from friends, agents, teachers and casting directors. All these things will help you to reflect the person whose role you are playing. A good actor is capable of playing different kinds of roles. You may not be playing each and every role, but your experience will help you get the right job.
* You must understand when you are in an acting school San Francisco, it would be the hardest time you ever had. Lots of hard work and dedication would be required to reach the level of perfection. You must believe in yourself to even feel like you have got hold of yourself. You need to learn patiently and work hard every day to turn yourself into a new you.
* Getting through those first couple of years is difficult and you need to work at it every day. Leaving it to chance will never help you get quick and good results. You have to make those mails, calls and read those trades so that you can have quick results. Learning business skills in acting is very important and even some acting schools make their students get a hold on this. Acting is a business and you have to schedule your time to work at your business. The day when you get one good lead will be the good day of your career.
* Several people will vet you before they present you in front of a person who is actually going to hire you, i.e. the director or producer. It is a complete chain of trust as director trusts the casting director to find some new talent. The casting director trusts agents and agents look for the acting schools where new talents appear every year. Those who love acting, the best place where such people feel excited is an audition room. Making someone impress with your acting is a quality of an actor.
It will be good for you to be a part of a good acting school. Such schools have excellent trainers and acting coaches that will make you learn some outstanding skills.

"Discipline is the refining fire by which talent becomes ability." Discipline is the most essential quality of life. It is in fact the greatest law of nature. It is necessary not only in the Army but it is equally important in schools, colleges and homes. It is necessary in the personal life of everybody. Nature is the best mirror to perfect the work of discipline within all of us. The earth, the sun, the moon and other planets are governed by certain laws to maintain perfect harmony and beauty. Any deviation from these set rules, will spell an utter disaster in nature. Discipline is necessary for health and also for progress in life. One should be regular in one's habit of food, study and sleep. It is the only key to success. Discipline is a training that teaches the art of obedience to rules. It helps a person develop an orderly behavior and self control.
In our expert's opinions at Kids Act LA Discipline is vitally important because it teaches children the concept of right and wrong. If they are not disciplined, they will never learn when their behavior is unacceptable. They will never learn the difference between right and wrong. It teaches boundaries. Children who are not disciplined will never learn there are boundaries that must not be crossed. It teaches a child, respect for authority. If your kids always get their way with you, they will learn that they are the "big boss", that they are the ones in control. It teaches them good social skills. No one likes to be with someone who always insists on their own way. Discipline is necessary for both the teacher and the taught. A good teacher has a great responsibility of keeping a high image of his personality in the society. He can't do it unless he maintains an intellectual and more discipline of a high order. No student will obey and respect an undisciplined teacher, however high may be his knowledge.
School discipline has two main goals:
(1) To ensure the safety of staff and students and
(2) To create an environment conducive to learning.
For school discipline to be successful, we need to restore those relationships. Parents and schools need to work together to instill the importance of education in children of all ages. Finding discipline procedures that work is a job for students, parents, and teachers to explore together. In today's society, working together within the school and community will help teach children that working as a team can effectively solve the problem.

If your child wants to become an actor and you are thinking of helping your child get into the entertainment industry the first thing you need to consider is, does your child want to become an actor for the right reasons? It should NEVER be about money or fame.
If your child is pursuing acting for fame or money their interest will to be short lived. They will find out how much time and work it takes and will quickly lose interest. On the other hand, if it is something they truly love they will stick with it no matter how much time it takes and it will never feel like work to them.
If your child is going to succeed you need to understand that this is a business and needs to be treated as a business. And you will need to be committed to making their business successful. Committed to dealing with the traffic jams, last minute auditions etc.. It takes much more work, patience and due diligence than most people realize.
Once your child is well trained and ready to start working you need to keep in mind that if you are interested in your child doing commercial work you will need to live in the market they want to work in. The reason for this is most commercial audition notifications go out within a twenty four hour timeframe. You would be notified on Monday for a Tuesday audition or Thursday for a Friday audition and so on. It would not make sense to fly from, say, Kentucky to LA or NY every time your child had a commercial audition, the cost alone would be astronomical.
With film and television there is normally a few days notice for auditions, there will even be times that your agent can arrange to put your child's audition on tape and send it to the casting director so you won't have to fly out for the initial audition. If you don't live in a major market like LA or NY it is difficult, but not impossible, to get an agent for television and film in those markets. When looking for an agent in another state they will need to know you are able and willing to fly out for an audition or callback on short notice before they will even consider working with you.

Raising a child does not have to be by guess and by gosh and hope you're doing it right. Parenting is an activity, and like any and every action or activity, it is subject to the principles of quality. When the principles of quality are known and applied, high quality follows. Even more important, since children learn mainly by example, they learn and apply the principles of quality in their own lives, and do very well in all regards.
From infancy, through toddlerhood, into childhood, and from there on out, children do what they see works. If crying gets results, they cry. If anger works, they are angry. They don't understand until much later, if ever, that what worked with their parents when they were very young might not work in other settings. So they keep on crying, or being angry, since they know it works and it's the only thing they know works. Their lives are not very happy.
Enter the principles of quality. What does it mean to be a high quality parent? Exactly the same as being a high quality violinist, telephone repairman, baseball player, or retail clerk. They get good results. High quality doesn't happen by accident or by making good guesses. High quality is based on the principles of quality. Anyone who is better than average at a particular activity is applying some of these principles, whether they know it or not.
Here is the other side of the coin: anyone who is applying the principles of quality, to any activity, will get good results. In the case of parents, other parents will envy them for having such great kids.
So what are the three Major Principles of quality, the four Applied Principles, and the thirteen Quality Actions? Far more than will fit in one article. But here is the first Major Principle, on which all the rest are based, and without which all the rest will not work very well if at all:
Quality is an attitude.
This is true. Quality is not a skill or a talent or high intelligence or a gift. Quality comes directly from the desire to do something better, get better results, improve something. The most wonderful thing about this principle is that anyone can do it. Starting anytime. That desire is yours if you want it, and no one, absolutely no one, can stop you from having it.
Notice also, that the Quality Attitude is a desire to do something better, to get better results. A person, who is improving, even if he is not good yet, is succeeding. Failure is only lack of improvement. A brand new parent might not be a good parent at first. But if he or she wants to get better at it, and does what it takes to get better at it, eventually he or she will be a good parent, a high quality parent, and his or her kids will be great kids.
So how do you get better at something? Once you have this Quality Attitude, what do you do with it? You apply the other principles of quality. They are also freely available for anyone, without special training. They are talked about in other articles by the same author, so look them up.
But only if you want to do something better, get better results, or improve something.
